Tempe First welcomes families and children with open arms. The sound of children brings joy to our hearts. We love teaching, guiding, and introducing them to the love of God.
Sunday School - The 9:30 am service includes a Children’s Moment followed by Sunday School. We have fun learning scripture and Bible stories while becoming friends and discovering that being together at church is fun.

Acolytes - During our 9:30 am worship service children can serve as acolytes. At the beginning of the service, as they bring their lighted staffs into the sanctuary, they remind us of the light of the Holy Spirit coming to be present with us as we worship. As the acolytes take the light out of the sanctuary at the close of worship, they help us remember that we as Christians need to take this light into the world with us. Training is available for anyone who is interested in participating as an acolyte.

Tempe First welcomes college students to join us for worship on Sunday mornings. College students participate in all aspects of our church life, including in worship leadership and leadership in church committees. Tempe First is surrounded by Arizona State University; our campus is a short walk from on campus housing.
Tempe First also hosts Valley Wesley, a United Methodist Campus Ministry open to all college students. Valley Wesley is a place for students with adventurous spirits, questioning minds, and compassionate hearts to gather together. The ministry currently meets on Monday evenings at 6pm in the upstairs of Ross Hall to share a meal, time of worship, and spiritual conversation. Our group consists of both graduate and undergraduate students who come from diverse backgrounds. We value being in intentional dialogue and learning from others who have perspectives on life and faith that differ from our own. In addition to our weekly gatherings, we also have monthly events focused on building community and nurturing friendships. For more information, check out our Instagram @valley_wesley_asu.

UWF is for women of all ages and interests. We meet in small fellowship groups. Our purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to extend the concept of missions through participation in global ministries of the church.
UWF sponsors the following groups:
The Annual Cookie Walk, held on the second Saturday in December, is a cookie sale extravaganza to benefit local outreach ministries for women & children.
Our UWF also offers receptions in Ross Hall for weddings and other occasions such as bereavement receptions, anniversaries, and birthday parties for church members.

Do you like to greet people and make them feel welcome? Come be that smiling face new visitors and regulars see as they enter our church campus.
